Twist-wrap packaging places specific demands on the film material. Not every film is suitable for this type of packaging.
Mechanical Properties
Tensile strength: Twisting generates tensile forces that place stress on the material. High-qualityfilms this stress—even at high machine speeds.
Springback: After being twisted, the film must remain in the twisted position. Excessive springback will cause the package to open.
Sliding properties: Defined sliding properties are required to ensure smooth machine operation. The film must feed reliably through the packaging line.
Appearance & Protection
Transparency and shine: Twist-wrapped products are designed to look appealing—the film enhances the visual impact.
Moisture protection: Candies and confectionery are hygroscopic. The film protects against moisture ingress and preserves product quality.
