Half-tube film consists of a flat plastic tube that is open on one or both sides—when unfolded, it is twice as wide as when supplied on the roll. The product is simply inserted into the open half-tube, after which the film is heat-sealed around the product and shrunk. Depending on the packaging method, one side (or both sides) is sealed during the packaging process using heat sealing.

With extremely high shrinkage rates, the BF-Ultimate+ polyolefin fine-shrink film is a top-of-the-line all-purpose film—and, of course, it’s also available as a half-tube film.
The highly transparent and high-gloss BF-Ultimate+ is a 5-layer, cross-linked, and electronically cross-linked film. This high-tech film offers extremely high seal strength and excellent processing properties on a wide range of packaging machines. In addition to its shrinkage rate of up to 88%, it impresses with its exceptional transparency and brilliance—the excellent gloss highlights the high quality of the packaged items.
BF-Ultimate+ fine shrink film is 100% food-safe and is just as suitable for food packaging as it is for packaging non-food items in the pharmaceutical and electronics industries. It is 100% recyclable in the LDPE04 stream. Many fine shrink films shrink even at low temperatures, which shortens sealing times and allows for use with heat-sensitive products.

The polyolefin fine-shrink film, available in a half-tube format, comes with numerous additional features depending on your requirements. Upon request, the film can be supplied with hot-needled perforations in P1 (small) or P2 (large) patterns—the perforations allow air to escape during shrinkage, ensuring clean shrink results. ESD treatment for antistatic products such as electronic components and printed circuit boards is available, as is treatment for food packaging. The fine shrink film can be printed with up to 10 colors using gravure printing or supplied unprinted in various versions.
