BF-E & BF-EX – Antistatic films electronics and printed circuit boards
Antistatic films reliably films electrostatic-sensitive components from ESD damage—electrostatic discharges that can damage or destroy printed circuit boards and electronic components. Schlichter GmbH’s BF-E and BF-EX fine-shrink films are coated with an antistatic finish on both sides, ESD-tested, and specifically designed for use in electronics packaging.
Both antistatic films made of polyolefin micro-shrink film, making them food-safe and 100% recyclable in the LDPE04 recycling stream. Depending on your requirements, two variants are available: the versatile standard film BF-E and the cross-linked specialty film BF-EX, which offers maximum shrinkage and seal strength.
Typical applications: the electronics industry, printed circuit board production, semiconductor manufacturing, automotive electronics, and medical technology.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
What are antistatic films when are they necessary?
Antistatic films with a conductive finish that prevents the buildup of electrostatic charge. They are essential in any application where electrostatic discharge (ESD) can damage electronic components, printed circuit boards, or semiconductors—such as in electronics manufacturing, medical technology, and automotive electronics.
What does "ESD-certified" mean?
ESD stands for Electrostatic Discharge. An ESD-certified film has been tested for its antistatic effectiveness in accordance with defined standards. BF-E and BF-EX have passed this test and are suitable for use in ESD-sensitive manufacturing environments.
What is the difference between BF-E and BF-EX?
BF-E is the universal standard version, offering excellent shrinkage and seal strength. BF-EX is cross-linked and provides significantly higher shrinkage forces as well as very high seal strength for more demanding applications. Both are coated with an antistatic finish on both sides and are ESD-tested.
In what thicknesses are the antistatic films ?
BF-E is available in 15 µm, 19 µm, and 25 µm. BF-EX is also available in 30 µm and 37 µm. Both films available as half-tubes or flat sheets.
Are the antistatic films ?
Yes. BF-E and BF-EX are 100% recyclable in the LDPE04 stream and comply with PPWR standards.
